Biography
Sophie Labandibar is a renowned French concert pianist and répétiteur. She started her piano education at the Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne Billancourt with Prof. Marie-Paule Siriguet before moving on to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with Prof. Alain Planès and the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany, where she obtained her diploma from Prof. Boris Bloch and Prof. Michael Roll. Back in Paris, Sophie took her chamber music exam in the class of Prof. Claire Désert and Prof. Ami Flammer.
The artist has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician and répétiteur at home and abroad guesting at famous venues such as the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, the French piano festival in La Roque d’Anthéron, the Festival Radio France in Montpellier or the Cello festival in Belgrad. Furthermore, she enjoys accompanying soloists at highly acclaimed music competitions such as the flute competitions "Concours Jean Pierre Rampal" and "Concours Maxence Larrieu" or the International ARD Music Competition in Munich as well as at auditions held by the prestigious Royal Concertebouw Orchestra Amsterdam.Sophie Labandibar is also active in a teaching capacity as associate professor for piano accompaniment at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon.
