Biography

Ron Maxim Huang, born in Berlin in 2001, received his first piano lessons at the age of nine. He was a young student at the Julius Stern Institute at the Berlin University of the Arts in Prof. Markus Groh's piano class and a student at the C.Ph.E.Bach Music High School in Berlin. He is currently studying at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof Lehmann.

He is a scholarship holder at the Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks there. 

In 2011, he won the 1^st prize in the “Jugend musiziert” competition and the 2^nd prize in the “75. International Steinway Piano Competition”. In 2014 and 2017, Ron won his 1^st national prize in the “Piano solo” category at the “Jugend musiziert” competition and was awarded a scholarship from the Carl Bechstein Foundation and a special prize from the German Stiftung Musikleben. He also received a prize from the Berthold Hummel Foundation and a double Carl Heinz Illies scholarship from the German Foundation for Music Life. At the “International Competition for Young Pianists” in Ettlingen, Ron won a sponsorship prize in 2016 and the 3^rd prize in 2020 (participant in group B). 

Ron performed as a soloist with the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra in Medingen Monastery and with the Potsdam Chamber Academy in the Nikolaisaal. In 2017, he made his debut in the Great Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic with Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. In 2018, he made two guest appearances with Grieg's 1^st Piano Concerto with the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie in Saxony and played the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 with the orchestra of the C.Ph.E.Bach Musikgymnasium in the concert hall of the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2020, he gave a concert with Daniel Hope in the “Stars & Rising Stars” concert series in Munich. 

Ron has performed at festivals such as the 94th Bachfest Rostock, the Bebersee Festival, the crescendo Festival Berlin, the Brandenburg Summer Concerts and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
