Biography
Nikita Lukinov was born in Russia in 1998. In 2005, he began studying the piano at the Voronezh Central Music School with Svetlana Semenkova. After studying in Russia, he moved to London to continue his studies at the Purcell School for Young Musicians. He got a full scholarship to study there, where his musicality was cultivated by Tatiana Sarkissova. In 2017, Nikita continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on a full scholarship with Petras Geniušas. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on a full scholarship from ABRSM.

So far, Nikita has had masterclasses with Dmitry Bashkirov, Dmitry Alexeev, Andrzej Jasinski, Roy Howath and J-F. Bavouzet, Steven Osborne, Olga Kern, Vladimir Viardo, Dang Thai Sohn, Noriko Ogawa, Aaron Shorr, Kirill Gerstein, Boris Slutsky and Yaron Kohlberg. He also receives a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive music weeks held there.
Nikita's first success was a Grand Prix at the “2010 International Shostakovich Piano Competition for Young People” (Moscow). Other achievements include the 1st prize at the “Sheepdrove UK Intercollegiate Competition”, 2021, the Grand Prix at “Tokyo Stars International Competition”, Japan 2021, the 2nd prize at the “Franz Liszt International Piano Competition”, Spain 2021, the 1st prize at the "Inter-Russian Piano Competition for Young Pianists", the diploma at the "International Television Competition for Young Musicians Nutcracker", the 1st prize at the "Inter-Russian Concert Competition" where he performed the Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 op. 11 with orchestra at the age of 14 . While a student at the Purcell School, Nikita made his Kings Place and Wigmore Hall debuts and won the “Purcell School Concert Competition”. He received the "HelpMusicians Postgraduate Award" and the "Voronezh State Prize for Outstanding Cultural Achievements".
Nikita's debut with a symphony orchestra was at the age of eleven. In recent years, he has appeared as a soloist in the UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, Poland, Croatia, USA, Germany and Russia, performing at Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Kings Place, Fazioli Hall, at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, in the Steinway Hall in London, in the British Institute in Florence, in the Hastings International Piano Series, in the Vaduz Rathaussaal in Liechtenstein, in the concert series Celebrity recitals in Shrewsbury and completed a tour of six concerts in Scotland. Nikita has performed at the Southbank Center in London, the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. In 2022, Nikita performed a concert in Shrewsbury, UK in aid of Ukraine. He is one of the musicians on the Talent Unlimited and Live Music Now Scotland programs.
His debut CD is scheduled for release in 2023 on the KNS Classical label.
Nikita is the holder of a personal grant from the Voronezh regional government for outstanding cultural achievements, the Russian Children's Foundation and an international charity foundation New Names. He also received a personal grant from the National Artist of Russia V. Ovchinnikov, is a grantee from ABRSM, The Munster Trust, Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation and the Drake Calleja Fund.
