Biography
Born in Italy in 2001, Elia Cecino began his piano studies at the age of nine with Maddalena De Facci. With 17, he graduated summa cum laude at the Cesena Conservatory and achieved his master diploma at the Accademia del Ridotto di Stradella in 2021, studying with Andrzej Jasinski. He attends the postgraduate course in Musical Heritage at the Accademia di Pinerolo, studying with Pavel Gililov, Enrico Pace, Andrea Lucchesini, Roberto Plano and he is specializing with Eliso Virsaladze and Boris Berman.
He is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and regularly takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.

Winner at the age of 18 of the “XXXVI Concorso Nazionale Pianistico Premio Venezia”, Elia was awarded in many international competitions as at the “Concurso International de Piano de Ferrol”, the “Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition” in Seregno, the “Robert Schumann Competition Düsseldorf”, the “Alessandro Casagrande International Piano Competition” in Terni, the “International Piano Competition Luciani” in Cosenza, the “International Piano Competition Isidor Bajic Piano Memorial” in Novi Sad, the “International Chopin Piano Competition” in Budapest and the “International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition” in Vienna. His recent successes include winning the 1st prize at the “RNCM James Mottram International Piano Competition” in Manchester and the competition “Ricard Viñes Piano Kids and Youth” in Lleida.
Elia performed as soloist with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Simfònica del Vallès, Sinfónica de Galicia, Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Philarmonic, Bacau Philarmonic, Joven Orquesta Leonesa, FVG Orchestra, Morbegno Vivaldi Orchestra, Empoli Busoni Orchestra, Concentus Musicus Patavinus Orchestra and the Pordenone San Marco Orchestra.
Since 2014, Elia is regularly invited to play solo recitals in venue such as Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Auditorium della Gran Guardia in Verona, Spazio 89 in Milan, Sala dei Giganti in Padova, Steinway Hall in London, Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead, Laeiszhalle Kleiner Saal in Hamburg, Gesellschaft für Musiktheater in Vienna, Schloss Wolfsburg, Italian Culture Institute in Hamburg and Budapest, Sanatorium Marconi in Busko-Zdrój, Aula de Cultura in Murcia, Teatro Thuillier in Caravaca de la Cruz, among others. In 2016, he took part in a concert tour in the USA.
In 2020, the label Suonare Records released his debut CD dedicated to Beethoven, Chopin and Skrjabin. A monographic Chopin album has been published in April 2021 by OnClassical. Some of his recitals and interviews have been broadcast on ClassicFM, Rai Radio 3, Radio Popolare, Rai Friuli Venezia Giulia and Radio MCA. In October 2021, his recital at Cappella Paolina del Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome has been streamed live on Rai Radio 3. He participated in the TV show “Prodigi” for Unicef on air on Rai 1.
Elia has also an intense chamber music activity in duo and trio with strings and piano quintet. In 2020, he collaborated with cellist Mario Brunello on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. For 2022 are planned projects with Quartetto Dafne at Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice in Venice and with Quartetto Arturo Martini at Teatro Comunale di Monfalcone.
Since 2019, Elia is artist in residence at the “Luigi Bon” Foundation.
