Biography
Mathilda Dendorfer was born in Germany in 2008 and grew up in Munich, Rome and Freiburg. She received her first violin lessons at the age of four. Since she was twelve, she has been studying as a pre-student at the Musikhochschule Freiburg in Prof. Simone Zgraggen's violin class.
Mathilda received other important musical impulses from Prof. Petru Munteanu, Prof. Michael Vaiman, Prof. Axel Strauss, Prof. Barbara Doll and Erika Geldsetzer, among others, as well as from sponsors such as Prof. Ulf Hoelscher and Prof. Gottfried von der Goltz. She is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities that take place there.

Since 2016, she has received numerous awards for her musical achievements. She took part in various constellations at "Jugend musiziert" and received 1st prizes without exception, most recently a 1st prize in the solo violin competition at national level in 2022. Also in 2022, she won the 2nd prize at the renowned "International Violin Competition Kloster Schöntal" and the Special prize for the best interpretation of the sonata, the 1st prize in the "International Clara Schumann Competition" and was awarded the "Förderpreis der Musikhochschule Freiburg" for outstanding achievements in the academic year 2021/2022. She is also passionate about making chamber music. For this she was a prize winner of the "Carl Bechstein Competition 2021 for Piano and String Instruments".
In 2022, Mathilda was selected and invited as a soloist for the Aims Festival in Solsona (Spain). There she made her debut as a soloist with symphony orchestra under the Anglo-Swiss conductor Kevin Griffiths.
Since 2023, she has been playing a Guarneri violin on generous loan from the Landessammlung Baden-Württemberg.
