Biography
Born in Taiwan in 2001, flutist Ann Kuo is currently studying at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where she studies with Jim Walker. Ann is the youngest and first Taiwanese flute student ever to be selected into Colburn Music Academy.
In addition to receiving masterclasses and individual lessons from Emmanuel Pahud and Julien Beaudiment, Ann was selected to perform solo at the closing ceremony. She’s a scholarship holder of the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, where she takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.
Ann has received remarkable awards from numerous international competitions including the „International Flute Competition Guangzhou“, the „Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition“, the „Biwako International Flute Competition“ and the „National Taiwan Music Student Competition“. Recently, she has won the 3rd price in the „National Flute Association Young Artists Competition“.

Ann has performed across the globe in a variety of genres, from classical solo, chamber music, to jazz and pop. Her interests in different genres of music and Taiwanese background has led her to be an unique and innovative musician. She has performed in several countries, including the USA, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan.
As a soloist, Ann has performed concertos with the Colburn Orchestra and the Mount Orchestra, as well as recitals in Los Angeles and Taipei. In 2023, she has previously joined the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, the Interlochen Arts Camp, the Taipei Music Academy and Festival the and Sarasota Festival. In 2022, she was one of the two flute scholarship winners to participate at the Domaine Forget International Academy and Festival.
