Biography

Ilyun Bürkev began piano at age four and studied at Istanbul State Conservatory. She is currently a Pre-College student of Prof. Pavel Gililov at Mozarteum University Salzburg.
She is a laureate of the Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition and winner of the Philadelphia International Piano Competition, and has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists including Alfred Brendel.
At 14, she toured Germany with the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 at major venues including Konzerthaus Berlin and Herkulessaal Munich.
In 2024, she opened the 52nd Istanbul Music Festival with Grieg’s Piano Concerto under Cem Mansur.
Highlights include her recital debut at Bechstein Hall, appearances at the Jeune Chopin Piano Award Ceremony, Young Classic Europe Festival in Passau, and Liechtenstein Academy’s Gala.
She has performed Chopin’s Concerto in F minor in Poland, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 13 at Phaselis Festival and Mozarteum Solitär. She is also taking part in chamber music projects at Mozarteum University and Liechtenstein Academy.
In 2025, she recorded her debut album with Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (Berlin Classics label).
She performed Grieg’s Concerto with the Turkish National Youth Philharmonic at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg during the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, with further concerts in Istanbul, Prague, and Vienna.
