Biography
Eduard Haas received his first cello lessons at the age of six, initially from Ulrich Schneider and Joseph Hasten at the Tübingen Music School, and later from Lisa Neßling and Sebastian Fritsch at the Talent Academy of the FILUM Filderstadt Music School. Since September 2024, he has been studying with Professor Danjulo Ishizaka at the Basel Academy of Music. Since the age of seven, Eduard has also received piano instruction, most recently with Doriana Tchakarova. He has gained further musical inspiration from Professor Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Professor Peter Bruns, Professor Wen-Sinn Yang, Daniel Müller-Schott, Professor Michael Hauber, and Professor Friedemann Rieger.
Since 2016, he has regularly participated with great success in “Jugend musiziert,” both as a soloist on cello and piano and in various chamber music ensembles. Eduard has won numerous national prizes, most recently being awarded a First Prize with the highest possible score in the category Violoncello Solo in 2022. In the same year, he also received a First Prize in the category Piano Chamber Music. In 2022, Eduard won the special prize “Feldtmann kulturell” at the International Dotzauer Competition. In 2023, he was awarded First Prize at the competition of the Tonkünstlerverband Baden-Württemberg. He made his solo debut in autumn 2023 performing Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto with the FILUM Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Robert Wieland. In February 2024, he received the Young Talent Award of the Chursächsische Philharmonie. Most recently, he won First Prize at the National FILUM Talent Competition, which included a performance as part of the Waldenbuch Concert Series in St. Veit.
Eduard is a prizewinner of the 2023 German Musical Instrument Fund competition and a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
