Biography
Stefan Szypura is a young Swiss pianist from Zurich. He received his first piano lessons at the age of four and, since 2022, has been studying under Maki Wiederkehr at the Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich (MKZ). Stefan is a multiple prizewinner of prestigious national and international competitions.
Among his outstanding achievements are 1st Prize and the MK Talent Award at the International Piano Competition Kronberg (2025), 1st Prize with distinction at the Swiss Youth Music Competition (SJMW), and 1st Prize at the Lavaux Classic Competition (2024). He has also been awarded 1st Prizes at the Steinway Competition Zurich, the Schubert Competition Basel, and the Laupersdorf Music Competition.
A significant milestone in his career was his orchestral debut in 2024 with Mozart’s Piano Concerto KV 414. In September 2025, he gave his first recital as part of the Appenzeller Forum Gonten, performing works by Beethoven, Ravel, and Chopin. That same year, he received important artistic guidance through his selection for the prestigious Henle Ravel Masterclass with Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Munich.
In addition to his solo career, Stefan is deeply passionate about chamber music and regularly performs in ensemble with his siblings. His artistic profile is further enriched by his violin playing and the composition of his own works, demonstrating his versatile musical talent.
