Biography
Applauded by audiences for great musical poetry, pianist Rei Fukuoka has enjoyed a performing career since the age of 12. Rei first began his studies with Ms. Mariko Furukawa and Ms. Eri Kang, and further trained under pianist Prof. Inesa Sinkevych at the Precollege program of the Manhattan School of Music. He is currently continuing his studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under the tutelage of Prof. Naum Grubert. Throughout his musical career, Rei has played at numerous important venues including Carnegie Hall as well as Lincoln Center. He has won numerous competitions including first place in the Mary Smart Concerto Competition, top prizes at the Kronberg International Piano Competition, and the Concerto Competition held at the Young Artists Piano Seminar Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Rei has received classes from renowned pianists such as Mikhail Vosrensky, Alexander Kobrin, Milana Chernyavska, and Barry Douglas.
